About Us

Who we are?

The Murcian Association of Psychosocial Rehabilitation is constituted in Murcia on October 31, 2002, with a regional scope and legal form of non-profit non-governmental body, registered in the Register of Associations of the Region of Murcia with the number 6952 / 1st dated on December 10, 2002.

The Murcian Association of Psychosocial Rehabilitation has been constituted and promoted by professionals related to the intervention in rehabilitation of people with mental health problems and addictions of the Region of Murcia, created under the protection of Murcian Health Service of the Ministry of Health.

What we do?

Our actions are framed within the Mental Health and Drug Dependencies Plan of the Region of Murcia, included in the Public Network of the Murcia Health Service, whose main objective is the active contribution to greater and deeper knowledge and development of the field of psychosocial rehabilitation, while promoting its practical application.

In the Murcian Association of Psychosocial Rehabilitation we develop projects, activities and programs of socio-labor insertion for the care of people with addiction problems and / or chronic mental disorder. We intend to provide individualized itineraries and personal accompaniment to each beneficiary who wishes to start a process of improving their personal and professional situation, aiming to favor the effective labor incorporation, the reduction of relapse rates, as well as to promote a better quality of life of the affected people and their families within the scope of the Autonomous Community of Murcia.

Who we serve?

The fundamental intervention sector focuses on people with chronic mental disorders, addiction problems and people with dual pathology diagnosis, as well as people who, being in the mental health network of the Region of Murcia, have serious problems of social incorporation and labor, actions that are carried out within the scope of the Autonomous Community of Murcia.

This collective object of the intervention is characterized by being historically neglected by the actions and policies of labor integration.

The vast majority of the mentally ill are unemployed, and those who have entered the labor market have difficulty maintaining their job. Therefore, the labor integration of the mentally ill is very scarce, becoming a “historical debt”, one of the great outstanding issues of today’s society, a topic that needs to be overcome to fight against the marginalization suffered by this large group and get the real promotion of equal opportunities.

What are our objectives?

In the Murcian Association of Psychosocial Rehabilitation we aim to contribute, by all the means within our reach, to a greater and deeper knowledge and development of the field of psychosocial rehabilitation, as well as promoting its practical application in improving the quality of life of people and the family environment that, in the context of the Autonomous Community of Murcia, are affected by problems of mental disorders and addictions.

Among the objectives we highlight:

● Organize and manage rehabilitation and leisure programs for intervention groups.

● Promote policies and develop programs that respond to the specific needs of the mentally ill and / or drug addicts.

● Collaborate with public organizations, that work in psychosocial rehabilitation.

● Encourage the sharing of the experiences of each autonomy and ensure the collection and dissemination of information and publications, through the media.

● Organize scientific activities for the study and debate of the different aspects of psychosocial rehabilitation.

●   Promote consultation services on psychosocial rehabilitation tasks.

●  Support efforts that contribute to reducing relapse rates and the level of disability of chronic mental patients and / or drug addicts.
